About Sam’s Blog

Sam New rtHere we will chronicle Sam’s life, travels and perspectives on the Middle East and other parts of the world. Sam is seeking to build bridges of understanding and cooperation between the Abrahamic faiths.

“One thing is certain,” Sam says. “No one will gain from a new ‘cold war’ that seeks to target Muslims as the new enemy. We Muslims, Christians and Jews can find a better way!”

Sam believes that together we can work towards a brighter future; one which provides all men, women and children an opportunity to live in peace; enjoying the blessings of freedom, dignity and hope.

  1. Sam–this reconciliation work is difficult, but it must be done, and ultimately it is a joy. May we not be stopped by what is difficult. All religions value love. Let’s remember this common element as we reach beyond our comfort zone and love one another.

  2. Yes, Pat, but really not as difficult for me as I had anticipated. I’ve been out of the United States once a year, sometimes more often, since I was 18 years old. I’m having difficulty remembering any time I have been received and cared for with such great honor and dignity. In a short period I have grown to love and appreciate my Muslim brothers and sisters here in Jeddah. Together, working as a team, we are doing our part to change the world for the better!

  3. Sam: You’re a long way from your fundamentalist roots as a Bible Presbyterian youth minister! Amazing!

    • Lee, God leads us all individually–sometimes in amazing and unusual directions.
